Select the right lighting based on the size of the space—and counter—you‘re covering. Many islands are accommodated by two or three small pendants, but some require as many as four small lights (or alternatively fewer large lights). In this instance, two large Glendale Chandeliers perfectly cover a long marble island.
Starting in the 1980s, recessed light fixtures became the norm for general kitchen lighting. But within the last ten years, this has started to change as people realized that the combination of the ceiling penetrations and the greater number of fixtures needed make this type of lighting potentially less efficient than either surface or pendant fixtures. Two trends have emerged since then. One is that the manufacturers have been redesigning recessed fixtures to be much more efficient.
Pendant lights have been around for a while, but that doesn’t mean there’s only one way to use them. In fact, far from it. Occasionally you need to shake things up by combining traditional design elements with new pendant light ideas. Often the results turn out better than you ever could have imagined.
Custom fluorescent panel designs are also available through reputable dealers. This gives the opportunity to really transform a kitchen into something special and truly unique. Give the space a personal touch through printing an image personally designed by you or even an image that inspires an area.
