Your kitchen is a practical, highly-used space that you should truly enjoy living in each and every day. Keeping it updated and to your liking can seem frivolous, but what space could be more important in our daily lives? We’re willing to spend out for a comfortable bed to keep us rested and healthy. Shouldn’t we invest in kitchens that help us live healthier and more comfortable as well?
The compartmentalized and boxed-in feeling of outdated kitchens built generations ago is very common. If you’re looking to open up your kitchen and share the view with an adjacent dining room or living room – consider knocking down some partitions! This method works well for non load-bearing walls that don’t carry any structural value. Your kitchen can grow in size or it can just get opened up to other areas of your home.
In the photo above, we see another example of how to use wood to create an appealing contrast against cabinets. The sleek, gray cabinets look almost futuristic and the range hood style adds to the modern look, but the warm wood creates a sort of natural feel. What results is some subtle contrast using wood textures in the kitchen, helping the kitchen feel modern but not stark.
Your own freezer is a cool area where you put various bits of edible fare for future use or to be maintained at a cold temperature. The freezer isn't gorgeous, and if it is doing it's job, you'll never understand about it. That is, of course, until you are faced with a freezer that is on its way out.
